MUSICAL SHOW PRODUCTION class is an exciting, creative experience for students interested in musical theatre

This class is designed to give students a chance to create, participate and perform in shows based around show tunes of American musical theatre, or original student written music. Students learn about, analyze and recognize the different styles and types of music used in the history of American musical theatre. The students review and discuss musicals they observe in class or at live performances. All types of theatre are examined and discussed.

In the Fall, the students create, rehearse, promote, stage, costume, choreograph and perform an original musical. In the Spring, the class does the same with their own musical review, plus they participate in the school-wide Spring Musical in May. Some outside, after school performances are required both semesters. This course may be repeated for credit. This course will fulfill one year of Fine Arts credits.
